The Challenge

Previous reports were text-heavy and visually inconsistent, making it difficult for members and stakeholders to quickly grasp the organization’s scale, program impact, and budget allocation.

The objective was to design a refreshed editorial system that:

• Improved readability and storytelling
• Translated complex membership and financial data into accessible visualizations
• Maintained IMFFA’s brand identity while modernizing layout and structure

My Approach

Working within a tight one-week production timeline, I collaborated closely with IMFFA’s Communications Chair and ConnectingAll’s leadership team to establish a clean editorial structure and cohesive visual language.

Key contributions included:

• Designing page layouts and typographic hierarchy
• Building a modular grid system for flexible content
• Developing and refining data visualizations
• Ensuring consistency across 20+ report pages
• Preparing print-ready and digital publication files

Data Visualization

A central component of the project was transforming raw datasets into intuitive graphics that communicate IMFFA’s global footprint at a glance.

Working alongside the project’s data analyst, I co-created and refined multiple data visualizations, ensuring clarity, brand alignment, and accessibility for a non-technical audience.

Contributions included:

• Co-developing the global membership distribution map
• Designing participation and volunteer charts
• Supporting budget allocation and demographic graphics
• Applying consistent visual styling across all data figures

These visualizations translated complex information into clear and engaging storytelling assets.

Editorial Design System

To unify the report, I introduced:

• A modular grid system for flexible page layouts
• A refreshed color palette aligned with IMFFA branding
• Consistent typographic styles for headings, body text, and captions
• Image framing and spacing guidelines

This system ensured visual consistency across content-heavy pages while keeping the document engaging and easy to navigate.

Final Deliverables

• 20+ page Annual Report (print + digital)
• Custom data visualization assets
• Cover and table of contents design
• Print-ready and interactive PDF files

Impact

The final report provided IMFFA with a modern, professional communication tool that:

• Enhanced clarity of organizational impact
• Increased stakeholder engagement
• Established a reusable design system for future reports

IMFFA leadership highlighted the report’s improved readability and professional polish.
